The Essential WQP

A one-day course delivered as 2 x 4.5 hour morning sessions over 2 days. Each session will include a break. The course will be presented in a supportive and learning environment with a balance of theory and workshop sessions. The training will be led by former VMD and MHRA inspectors through our virtual platform over Zoom.

The agenda is designed to address those essential areas needed to be an effective Wholesale Qualified Person (WQP). The key focus will be on the role of the WQP and understanding the relevant veterinary legislation; how this differs to human legislation and the impact this has on the WDA(V). Another key focus will be on maintaining the integrity of the supply chain.


Key topics

• A focus on the role of the WQP, their authority and responsibilities.

• Identifying and understanding the differences between human and veterinary medicinal products in terms of legislation, classification and supply.

• Enable the WQP to support the licence holder effectively in demonstrating compliance with the WDA(V).

• The role of the WQP in maintaining the integrity of the veterinary medicinal product supply chain and the fight against falsified medicines.

• Demonstrating WQP knowledge and experience to the inspector.


Course Objectives

To provide realistic and thought-provoking learning opportunities to help the WQP understand their role and responsibilities and how this differs between veterinary and human medicinal products.

To enable the WQP to support the licence holder effectively in demonstrating compliance with the WDA(V) and demonstrate knowledge and compliance to stakeholders and during regulatory inspections.

Highlight and ensure awareness of upcoming regulatory and guideline changes.


Expected Course Outcome

• Participants will have an enhanced understanding of the role and requirements of the WQP.

• Attendees will have a greater understanding of the relevant Legislation and how this impacts on their WDA(H) and WDA(V).

• Provide learners with an opportunity to discuss their learning with other industry professionals.

Training audience

The Training Course is of particular interest to new WQPs, prospective WQPs, Wholesalers holding both human and veterinary licences, and RPs who wish to increase their knowledge of requirements of a WDA(V). The course is also suitable for other quality, logistics and supply chain personnel.
